General Questions
What is iPriorityMail – A powerful
email app for iPhone that allows you to instantly be notified of the mail that is most important to you by selecting from your contacts and tagging in iPriorityMail.
How does it work – You enter your email address and password (encrypted). You will automatically connect to our service. NOTE: Yahoo free mail is not supported.
Who created iPriorityMail – iPriorityMail was created by Ahlquist Software and Bullseye Studio.
Is the iPriorityMail iPhone application for individuals or for teams? – iPriorityMail is a powerful email management tool that is applicable for individual or teams. It keeps you up to date pm all your important correspondence. For questions please email iprioritymail@ahlquistsoftware.com.
Is iPriorityMail related to the iPhone email app? iPriorityMail works in conjunction with your iPhone mail package. It allows you to instantly get notification through pop ups and sounds alerts.
Setup
How do I connect to iPriorityMail - When you first install the application it will step you through (via pop-ups) the connection process. Additionally, you can go into the Help menu and select Test Connection which will also step through the process to verify connection.
How do I know if the iPriorityMail connection is working? – In the Help menu select Send a test alert. You should receive a test pop up message. If not go back to connecting to iPriorityMail or email us at iprioritymail@ahlquistsoftware.com
How do I set it up email accounts? Select Manage Email Accounts and you will be taken to the Email Address page. Three envelope icons are displayed across the bottom of the page. You can add an email address and password to each (Note: our server is secure) and hit Apply to establish connection.
Why can’t I connect? – All email services are a bit different. If it does not automatically detect your connection you will have to enter your mail server (i.e. imap.gmail.com). Select Apply and you should connect. If you have any issues please email iprioritymail@ahlquistsoftware.com
What email services do you support? We support all major email services; Gmail, MobileMe, Godaddy, etc…).* Note – Yahoo free webmail is not supported. If you do not connect please contact us with your email service provider and we will attempt to remedy the problem.
Contact Alerts
What is an Alert? Alerts are contacts you identify to give you immediate notice when emailing you. You can choose to see immediate pop ups and/or audio alerts from Individuals, Custom Alerts (Groups) or a few Social Networks (e.g. Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Ebay) with more to come.
How do I add an Alert? When you open iPriorityMail it will default to the Alerted Contact display. Select Create New Alert and you will be taken to the Add Alert page. Here you can set up Individuals, Custom Alerts or Social network.
How do I add an individual? From the Add Alert page select Add a contact to the alert. It will take you to a contact list, simply scroll through and choice who you would like to add to you Alert list.
How do I set up Custom Alerts (Groups)? From the Add Alert page select Custom Alerts. It will take you to a page where you can enter a word or partial email you want this Alert to match (i.e @yourcompanymail.com, Outsource Bids, etc)
How do Facebook Alerts work? Add Facebook from the Add Alert page. Like other Alerts you can choose to see pop ups/audio alerts. Audio Alert defaults to appropriate VO but can be changed if desired. Note: When you select to View a Facebook email it will automatically link/open your iPhone Facebook app if installed.
How do LinkedIn Alerts work? Add LinkedIn from the Add Alert page. Like other Alerts you can choose to see pop ups/audio alerts. Note: Audio Alert defaults to appropriate VO but can be changed if desired. Note: When you select to View a LinkedIn email it will automatically link/open the LinkedIn app if installed.
Can I get Twitter feeds? Yes, you can flag Twitter messages to Alert you however when you select View you will be taken to the Twitter page in Safari.
How can I prioritize my most important emails? You can choose to view any mail that comes into your email account/accounts. If you have a particular email you can’t miss select Repeat in the customize field and the app will alert you until you View.
Can I see all Mail? iPriorityMail is set up with a Default field that allows all mail to seen with pop-ups. This default setting allows you to see all mail in pop-ups and Recent Email however if you turn it off then you will only be “alerted” with tagged contacts.
What is the Defaults field? Default field is a field we included to be comprehensive. If you choose you can be alerted by pop-up/audio for all mail.
Can I make a profile high priority? Yes, choose Repeat from Customize Contact and you will be alerted every 90 seconds until you view it/turn of repeat by loading our app.
My Alerted identifier did not Alert? Certain email providers push mail in groups and we can’t control how they are received. In those rare cases one may get pushed by the following mail interrupting its alert. Note: for the highest priority alerts select Repeat and you will receive pop ups/audio alerts until you view it in our app (even if pushed by a subsequent mail).
My contacts don’t load when I choose Selecting Add a new contact to alert…? Turn off your iPhone and restarting should fix the issue.
Customized contacts
How do I customize or differentiate contacts? When you open iPriorityMail it will default to the Alerted Contact display. This is where all selected contacts are organized/display. Select any contact and you will go to a custom alert page for that contact.
On the Alerted profile you will find several fields:

Use Defaults – will use the same alert as the Default contact in your contact list. Turn it off to customize.

Email Alert – turning this on will allow pop-ups to be displayed for email from this contact

Repeats Alert – this will repeat the “alert” pop-up or audio ever 90 seconds until you view it.

Ringtone – this is a scrolling field with sound alerts and voice overs to customize and help you identify each contact.
Where can I find Contacts add? Select Create New Alert – Add a contact to Alert and you will be taken to your contact list with the ability to scroll and select any number of contacts you choose.
How do I edit a contact? In the launch page you will see all Alerted Contacts. Choose any contact and all fields are available to you.
Can I delete contact? In the launch page you will see all Alerted Contacts. Choose any contact, when you go into the Alerted profile there is a Delete button on the bottom right.
How do you adjust the volume? iPriorityMail is set up to respond to the normal volume control on the iPhone device.
Can I turn off the volume at night? Yes, you can either turn off the Audio button on the left side of your iPhone of you can go into your iPhone Settings – Notification and turn them off there as well.
Recent Email
How does the email view work? The Recent Email tab will take you to a list of your last 20 “alerted” email.
Can I reply to important email? Yes, select Reply and you will immediately load a response message that can be sent out with a touch of a finger.
Can I delete email from my Recent Email list? Not at the moment however it is planned for the next revision.
What happens when I reply through iPriorityMail? Your mail will be instantly sent to recipient.
App Tools
How do I specify a particular ringtone/voice over? When you open iPriorityMail it will default to the Alerted Contact display. This is where all selected contacts are organized/display. Select any contact and you will go to a custom alert page for that contact. At the bottom is a scroll for over 30 tones and voice overs.
Can I delegate the same Alert to more than one person? Yes
How do I track the specific groups for Alerted contacts? You can specify a signature audio alert for Customized Alerts
What are repeats used for? Repeats will Alert you with either or both pop-ups/audio ever 90 seconds until you View the message in iPriorityMail. These are typically used for your highest priority contacts that need immediate attention.
Can I set up corporate mail? Yes, you can set Customize Alerts (Groups) and specify a common field (i.e. @company.com) and then set a specific tone or voice over to give it a signature.
Can I include email groups? Yes, using the Customize Alerts (Group) feature.
Contacts
How do I use contacts? The same way you use them in the normal contact screen.
How do I add contacts? From the Add Alert page select Add a contact to the alert. It will take you to a contact list, simply scroll through and choice who you would like to add to you Alert list.
How do I delete contacts? In the launch page are all Alerted Contacts. Choose any contact, when you go into the Alerted profile there is a Delete button on the bottom right.
Subscription & Pricing
Is there a cost to download iPriorityMail? iPriorityMail is free to download with a no cost 30 day subscription. If you like the service you can continue your subscription monthly for .99 or $1.99 for a three months commitment.
Is iPriorityMail for iPhone connected to any Social Networks? Yes, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, and Ebay are set up as specific alert contacts with voice over alerts (which can be changed). Our plan is to include more, if you have input please email us at iprioritymail@ahlquistsoftware.com
